152206 SCADA System Specialist. Provide SCADA development/support for a new Distribution Management System (DMS) used to monitor and control electric distribution facilities on a 24x7 basis. Job duties include: 1) Topology modeling of distribution substations 2) Communication/data modeling of distribution substation devices and other line devices such as switches, capacitors and line sensors. 3) Quality assurance testing with field technicians 4) Documentation of modeling/quality assurance tasks in change management tool 5) Monitoring/troubleshooting communication failures with substations or line devices
Requirements Basic Qualifications: * Pass NERC background checks * BS in Electrical Engineering Technology or Computer Engineering Technology * Understanding of IT systems and protocols, such as workstation/server operating systems and PERL scripting * Understanding of electric system theory and control devices * Ability to work in a demanding user environment * Ability to communicate both verbally and written with business and technical information * Strong problem solving and analytical skills Desired Qualifications: * 1-3 years experience with electric or manufacturing control systems and protocols * Programming experience in C++
