Our position of Lead Designer is located right across the street from the Silver Spring, MD metro stop. No more waiting in bumper to bumper traffic!
This job would entail:
* Guiding the evolution of CommEd*s visual style in collaboration with the Visualization Project Manager and CommEd Director.
* Developing media*primarily visual*for the Portal. The portal provides unique interfaces for distinct audiences based on information-seeking behavior.
* Working with the layout of each section and visual style of component elements paying attention to the varied interests, expectations, and ability of each audience type to comprehend climate concepts.
* Formulating a consistent look and feel to maps, information graphics, rendered visualizations, virtual globes, and visualizations designed for spherical display systems such as Sciece on a Sphere*.
The ideal candidate would have:
* Experience with 3d and 2d rendering, audio and video editing, preparing video for web streaming, video compression, and scripting languages for large data processing.
* 5 years work experience and an M.A. in graphic art or demonstrated professional equivalent required.
