Summary
This position is for a senior application developer who will
participate in the systems development life cycle for maintenance,
enhancements and new development projects in Data Warehouse/Data
Analytics environment. As a member of the Delivery Management Team, the
candidate will work with project teams to design, develop and deploy
ETL software needed to support a variety of business needs. The
position will report to a resource manager, but will be matrixed to
project managers for completion of project activity.
Responsibilities
A
successful candidate is expected to research, evaluate, identify
alternative approaches, recommend, design and code efficient and
effective solutions for challenging problems ranging from small to
large work efforts for low to high complexity problems. A successful
candidate will comply with standards and guidelines related to the
design, construction, testing and deployment activities within the SDW
environment. A successful candidate will demonstrate collaborative
skills working within a project team of diverse skills and will bring
communication skills including oral, written and presentation skills,
creativity, and problem solving skills to a challenging environment.
Qualifications
*
A Bachelors Degree in computer science, business or other relevant
degree; or equivalent experience, 7+ years, in one or more aspects of
information systems development.
* 4+ years of UNIX (AIX preferred) development environment.
o Multiple programming languages (shell scripts, C++).
o Experience with Autosys, an enterprise scheduling system.
* 4+ years of Native SQL against relational databases, preferably UDB/EEE.
* 4+ years Datastage Parallel Extender ETL tool.
* Demonstrated ability to deliver functionality in two or more programming languages within a single development environment.
* At least two to three years of experience in complex, cross-departmental projects involving multiple platforms
* Able to create high complexity detailed technical design specifications.
* Able to act as project technical lead for high complexity projects.

Able to act as a lead developer responsible for the planning,
completion and coordination of work activity for projects involving
more than one developer
* Effective communications with all levels
of internal and external customers and staff, including issue
resolution, negotiation of project related priorities, and completion
dates.
* Able to lead walk though of design documents and provide technical leadership over programming team.
* Strong analytical and technical aptitude

An understanding of a variety of modeling and/or diagramming
techniques, with the ability to create process flow diagrams and the
ability read data flow and entity relationship models
