Title: Cognos OLAP Support

Looking for a strong Cognos OLAP Support and Deployment specialist working closely with the technology architect to define the architecture and implementation of Shared OLAP platform. The role leads all aspects of the deployment activities which includes defining SOP, step-by-step work instructions, preparing all IQ/OQ documentation.

Position Description:

- Ability to accurately capture and document OLAP architecture design and systems requirements and translate these requirements into support operational procedures
- Experience with application development and system architecture design
- Ability to accurately use OLAP Migration Utility (Migrating PowerPlay Reports from Series7 to Cognos v8.4)
- Provide hardware and software requirements for Complex OLAP system
- Provide technical leadership to project teams - Mentor technical consultants who provide technical services during product implementations
- Define or assist with best practices for Cognos Transformer, PowerPlay Studio implementation and integration of Cognos Platform - Plan, design and execute performance tests of the platform
- Analyze, troubleshoot and / or tune OLAP product performance or deployment issues when required, either during implementations or post go-live
- Develop and Document technical architecture, system design, performance test results and other technical aspects of the implementation
- Ability to capture platform enhancement and process improvement recommendations into actionable operational steps

Requirements:
- 5+ years of technology implementation, system integration or development experience with solid understanding of Cognos 8 BI OLAP Architecture and Administration
- Experience with application development and operational support
- Proficient in implementing user level and data level securities within Cognos
- Strong expertise with Cognos OLAP platform sizing, troubleshooting, tuning & disaster recovery
- Complete understanding of data warehouse modeling, architectures, OLAP, OLTP data sets, etc.
- Strong expertise with tuning Cognos BI v8.4 OLAP components for faster access and performance (i.e. Transformer, PowerPlay Cube, PowerPlay Client and PowerPlay Studio)
- Must have used and implemented the OLAP migration Utility to migrate Series7 PowerPlay reports to Cognos v8.4 PowerPlay Studio. Should have very precise and clear understanding about the migration utility and its usage and implementation
- Excellent written and verbal communication in a global work team environment.
- Proven ability to work quickly and independently and to provide professional documentation is required.
Methodology/Certification:

- Cognos 8 OLAP Professional certification preferred
- Implementation\Usage of OLAP Migration Utility (Migrate Series7 PowerPlay Reports to Cognos v8.4 PowerPlay Studio)
- Cognos 8 BI Professional certification preferred
- Cognos 8 BI Professional Administration certification preferred
- ITIL certification is a plus
