The System Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure, including end-user systems. The system administrator participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the organization. In addition, the Systems Administrator supervises all elements of computer system support and maintenance conducted by our outsourced IT vendor. While at the same time working with internal resources to keep our environment up to date.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a liaison with network and system service vendors (i.e. PC, software, servers and hosting providers)
  • Day-to-day support of PC & Mac systems (staging, upgrades, relocation, help tickets, etc.). Manage the cost-effective purchase of computer hardware and software with system vendors
  • Support Windows Active Directory Services, Windows Server, SonicWALL Firewall, and VoIP
  • Performing backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up
  • Repairing and recovering hardware or software failures
  • Define hardware and software requirements for Desktops/Laptops/Printer
  • Maintaining hardware and software inventory
  • Ensure security standards are current and maintained
  • Configure, support software deployment, Disk Imaging, new builds
  • Influence the design of the company’s future network architecture
  • End User Support for all computers including desktops, laptops, printers
  • Set up and configure new user equipment desktops, laptops, printers, scanners
  • Set up and configure end-user Office 365 suite
  • Provide end-user training on software used for IT interaction

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with Apple and Microsoft business computers
  • Must be a tenacious and creative troubleshooter
  • Hands on experience with managing Active Directory and Exchange Server environments
  • Need to be an excellent verbal and written communicator
  • Capable of managing and prioritizing multiple projects
  • Passion for staying current with advances in computer hardware, software and networking technology
  • Must be proficient in HIPPA and PCI compliance
  • Must be organized and work unsupervised
  • Must be proactive, forward thinking and personable
